Newly refitted in 2007, the Churchill Bar is a unique cross between an English Pub and a traditional Club Bar. The facility includes a central horseshoe bar as well as cosy sofas and table seating for groups or couples.
The bar boasts six Draught Beers:
- Guinness – World-renowned Irish stout.
- Heineken – A traditional European favourite
- Tetley Smooth-Flow – Traditional English Bitter
- Stowford Press – Traditional English Cider
- Singha – The traditional Thai lager, locally made since 1933
- Tiger – the popular Singaporean lager now made in Thailand.
In addition the Churchill Bar has wide range of whiskies, most other spirits and favourite tipples, as well as six house wines, and a full Wine List. British Pub fare is the bar’s strength but you can also order international and Thai food as well dishes direct from the grill. A ‘Daily Special’ is displayed on a blackboard in the bar together with this month’s recommendations from Khun Laak, our Executive Chef.
TV Sport is prominent in the Churchill Bar showing most International Cricket matches, Formula 1, International Rugby and weekend FA soccer.
Several Balut sets and two Chess sets are available at all times for those who wish to play.
The Churchill Bar has access directly into The Verandah, our casual bar & restaurant, to access the many Club Buffets, and as with the entire Club it is wired up for Wi-Fi. The Verandah also holds a media bar with the Bangkok Post and The Nation newspapers each day, together with electronic copies of The Daily Telegraph. The media bar also stocks The Sun, The Financial Times and The Daily Mail (delivered one day after publication) plus a range of local magazines. There are also weekly deliveries of The Australian, Globe & Mail, Le Monde and the New Zealand Herald newspapers.
