An oasis in the heart of Bangkok
The British Club Bangkok is a private members' Club in the Central Business District of downtown Bangkok, Thailand. We were founded in 1903 as a British businessmen’s and diplomats’ club but have developed over the past century to be the social, sports & cultural centre for the English-speaking community in Bangkok. Membership
Although our membership is predominantly Australian, British, Canadian and New Zealander, we have an extensive Associate membership covering 48 nationalities and in all we have over 1,300 memberships equating to 3,200 members, spouses, and their children. Outlets & Facilities
The British Club Bangkok has a compact range of dining and sports facilities on our 14,000m² city centre site:
Dining outlets
include a British style pub/bar, an international cuisine restaurant, a Sports Bars, a Poolside open-air café, and a Family & Children’s café – see the Dining tag.
Sports facilities
include a 25m Swimming Pool, a Children’s pool & multi-play area, four floodlit, tennis courts, two air-conditioned, glass-backed squash courts, a Fitness Centre, and aerobics room (to open in December), two floodlit Cricket Nets, a floodlit Multi Purpose Court, a Snooker Room, a Children’s Games Room, and Thai & Sports Massage Facilities - see the Sports & Games tag.
Our Grounds
are suitable for weddings, business functions and parties, and are partially open to the public for each year’s Royal British Legion Remembrance Service and for the annual LIVING IN BANGKOK event.
Development
The British Club Bangkok is coming to the end of a multi-year, £3 million redevelopment of its poolside facilities. In 2018, the Club opened its new Silom Wing with an open-air café, children’s swimming pool & multi-play area, two air-conditioned, glass-backed squash courts, an interactive room, a games room and Kids Stop … a family play and eating area.
In 2021, a new covered open air Café will open topped by a glass-walled Sports Bar viewing both the tennis courts and the main swimming pool – in addition, there will be a new pool view fitness centre, massage & therapy rooms, and new state of the art changing facilities - see the Club Development tag.
