The control, care and maintenance of the Club is vested in, and is the responsibility of a General Committee of ten Ordinary Members, who are elected for a one-year term at each Annual General Meeting, held usually in March each year

Hailing originally from the New Forest in England, Dean has worked in the Retail Industry all his professional life; he has had work placements in UK, Egypt, Dubai, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand. For the last 13 years Dean worked for Boots latterly as International and Asia MD. His latest venture however is with Bain and Company helping retail businesses start up and grow in the region. He has two teenage children, one studying in UK and the other in Bangkok. His great passion is Squash; he is the Chairman of the Squash Section and despite two full knee replacements he still gets around the court with reasonable dexterity.

Simon joined The British Club in January 1991 since when he has been continuously resident in Thailand having enjoyed a long-standing career within the global shipping industry. His sporting interests cover rugby, football, golf and playing squash, albeit at a slower pace than yesteryear. Having a keen eye for detail and being service-minded, Simon looks forward to working with the GC and Club Management for the benefit of all Members.

Australian-born and having lived in New Zealand for many years, Chris has over forty years of experience in architecture and construction in New Zealand, Australia, Britain, and Thailand culminating in an associate partner for a progressive firm of architects in Auckland before venturing into the world of graphic design while continuing architecture and Project Management. Chris has been an active member of the British Club since 2000, and served on the General Committee for ten years, four of which as Vice Chairman from 2011-13 & 2024. An active member of the Tennis Section, serving on their committee for many years, he is currently the Chairman of the Tennis Section. Chris can be found in the Sala with his wife Nattaya many days a week. As a keen photographer he has contributed many photographs for the Club’s magazine along with photographing the annual Tennis Championship for twenty plus years.

Ceri joined the Club in early 2020, and has been an active Member of the Club’s community since then. He is on his 4th year as the Club’s Honorary Treasurer, is also the Honorary Treasurer for the St. David’s Society, and is Secretary for the Pool Section. Ceri is currently taking a career break and wants to use his time to serve the Club and the Members in any way possible. He is an enthusiastic walker and swimmer, and enjoys watching other sports from the side lines. Ceri read Mathematics at the University of Bath and then became a Chartered Accountant, since when he has been living and working in Financial Services overseas in Europe, South America, Middle East & Asia.

Educated in the UK but growing up mainly in South America, Jeremy worked with the fledgling Virgin group for 7 years, moving on to study programming and systems analysis before transferring to Granada TV and independent television distribution. Relocation to S.E. Asia to distribute educational and HRD training materials for 6 years followed, then with his Thai family to run a bungalow resort, 2 bar restaurants, and a leisure centre in the south of Thailand.
In 2010, Jeremy started editing the Club’s Outpost magazine, became a Club member, and joined the staff for 5 years. Since then, Jeremy has indulged his passions for music, film, history, his Mac, architecture/engineering, and innumerable tv documentaries.

Neil grew up in Wimbledon, London, and lived in the UK until 1995, when he moved overseas for work. He and his wife, Raquel, relocated to Thailand in 2002, where two of their three children were later born. They joined the British Club Bangkok within a year of arriving—initially drawn by Neil’s interest in squash and Raquel’s desire to learn tennis—and it quickly became a central part of family life for evenings and weekends.
A Chartered Civil Engineer by background, Neil now works in a senior management role for a Thai company operating one of the country’s largest fabrication yards. He remains an active member of the Club’s squash community and can still be found around the Club several times a week.

I have served on the General Committee for four years now and am very proud of what has been achieved. In its role as the custodian of the Club, I am keen that the GC continues to support the BC management team to ensure that the Club continues to be the best that it can be. I am also keen that Member experience is placed at the forefront of decision-making, underpinned by prudent accounting and innovative event management. I look forward to another year working with the management to help further improve the Club, whilst having a special interest in the renovation of the Clubhouse and preserving its heritage features.

David joined the British Club in 1993. Works in his own company, YES Technologies, as a software designer and consultant. Held the position of Chairman of the British Club General Committee for two years, 2003-2005 and was a Director on the Board of The British Chamber of Commerce Thailand for five years, from 2000 to 2004, serving as Vice-Chairman for two years 2003-2004. Enjoys cycling, X, good food and photography.

Born in Wales, Paul spent his university and early career years as a transport specialist mainly in South Yorkshire. From 1978 to 1988 he was employed by Hong Kong Government Transport Department including as Head of Public Transport Planning. In 1988, Paul became a consultant, moving to Bangkok and joining the Club in 1995. He managed the Bangkok Office for an International Transport Consultancy Company, and since 2003 has been an independent transport consultant based in Bangkok and working extensively within SE Asia and China. Paul has a Thai wife Gung, and supports two children. He has been a BC GC member on four previous occasions, and is keen to increase live music and other entertainment events at the Club.

David joined the British Club in 1983 after selling his restaurant interests in the UK. David became GM of the BC from 1984-1989 and has previously represented the Club at soccer, cricket, tennis, golf and was also a founder and previous national champion of the Bangkok Spoofers.
David has previously managed 9 private membership clubs In Thailand, Bahrain, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Taiwan, and has owned and managed catering establishments in Bangkok, Hua Hin, Pattaya and Chiangmai. Married to Supisa, they have threedaughters and three grandchildren who all enjoy using the BC.
